GIRLS OF BATAM

IN ROOM MASSAGE

After checking in at the Melia, I took a long shower and checked out the room a bit. I saw two different table tent type ads for massage and I figured that would be a great way to end my 30 hour voyage, and to start my stay in Batam. One ad said traditional massage was R50,000 for 45 minutes, or R60,000 for 60 minutes. The other ad touted massage by a Grand Master Thai Artist, at 120,000 for 2 hours, or with extra special therapy guaranteed to cure all ills at 150,000 for 2 hours. I thought the ad was funny, so I copied it. The massage promised to cure:

“Common chronic stress related illnesses, namely, semi paralysis from stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, backache, headache, migraine, vertigo, arthritis, rheumatism, numbness, pins and needles, pulled muscles, pinched nerves, high cholesterol, etc – immediately after the general therapy, the available-on-request special treatment by the extremely high “chi” of our Grandmaster will cure quickly and truly most of the chronic stress related illnesses, including many of the “incurable” cases of semi paralysis or incapacitation resulting from stroke or accidents.”

I thought the text was pretty sexually suggestive, but always switched to talking about stroke and paralysis right when it should have been talking about the great sexual relief you might get at the end, so I was very unsure about what to expect.

I decided to go for the traditional massage, mostly because I did not want to commit two full hours to something I knew nothing about. I called the number on the ad, which turned out to housekeeping. I told the young lady I wanted massage. Her English was poor. She said 60,000 for 45 minutes. I said the ad was 50,000 for 45 minutes. She said call the front desk. I did. They said it was 60,000 for 60 minutes, I said I wanted 45 minutes at 50,000. They said wait a minute. Then they said to call housekeeping. I was starting to understand, nobody was sure of the price, or time, indeed if there really was a set price. I called housekeeping, and agreed to the 60,000 for 45 minutes.

Twenty minutes later, an unattractive, near fifty woman about 30 pounds overweight knocked on my door. Fine, I was really just hoping for a really good straight massage anyway. This lady looked like she could do it. She asked for 100,000. What? I said it was 60,000 for 60 minutes. We were not really talking, she spoke NO English, we were writing the price and minutes on a notepad. I showed her the in room ad. She ignored it and wrote 80,000 for 30 minutes. I wrote 60,000 for 45 minutes, and acted like I was going to use the phone to call for help. She relented, but was clearly not pleased.

She proceeded to give me a decent massage, but not as professional as I had hoped. She spent about 15 minutes on my back, going along in haphazard fashion. She turned me over and did the same on my front. She got near my crotch and started talking. She used sign language for a hand job. I said no. I did not want this fat old lady to be my first, or last, or anything in between, sexual experience in Batam. Then (and I am really just guessing at her meaning here) she gestured that she would just massage my scrotum, indicating it was good for my body, my center, or something, she pointed to her heart, to my heart, held my groin and the top of my head and said good good or something. Fine. She gave a pretty good massage of my balls and sack, indicating a bit of experience in that area, gentle but firm, felt pretty good. After several minutes I was semi erect. She teased my shaft a couple of times, then looked me in the eye, and once again very clearly offered a hand job, then actually grabbed my dick and gave it several strokes. I nodded no. She suddenly got upset, quickly indicated we were done and packed up her stuff. It was less than 30 minutes from when she had started. She stuck out her hand demanding a tip. I pointed to our note pad, but she would have none of it, and continued to ask for a tip, I think she was asking for another 60,000 on top of the fee I had already paid her. I said no, and pointed to the paper. I finally gave her 10,000, and she acted insulted and continued to demand more. I gave her another 1,000, and then showed my displeasure by getting off the bed and standing up. I pointed to the door and put on my best stern face. She grumbled and talked to herself in a complaining type of voice, no doubt cussing me out and calling me a cheap shit. I was glad I could not understand Indonesian. The whole incident had caused me as much stress as it was supposed to relieve. Welcome to Batam.

Massage Ripoffs
by Ken

That Melia massage is a ripoff. I had many
excellent traditional massages around town
for far less. One of the best was a through
oil massage(no special services) at the
Formosa hotel, 2 hours for 70kRp.

You are absolutely correct. 70k for a great 2 hour message. Did it twice and the second time the messause wanted me to go to my room (20k more). Maybe I should have done it and got a bonus in addition to the 2 hour message...
