Balai Tipping Advice??
by ChaimettaJust back from my virgin trip through the
Riau islands, I'm hooked! Thanks to everyone
for the FAQs and trip reports which kept me
from being completely lost.
Had an experience in Balai that left me
curious about what is normal/customary
tipping in Balai. Booked a girl Thursday
night for 200kRp from Diamonds Karaoke,
service was satisfactory but not outstanding.
Next morning she's
getting ready to leave, asks me for ojek
money. Well, OK, I give her 5kRp. A little
later she asks for "tip", first telling me
Singapore guys give 100kRp. Sounded like
total crap and I told her. I absolutely
refuse to be shaken down and told her to go,
she stalled. Ultimately gave her 20kRp just
to get her to out. Probably should have just
kicked her ass out.
This is in contrast to Pinang where a tip
was never asked or expected. So what's
the low down on tipping??

FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND GUIDANCE, THE TIP RANGES FROM 60K TO 80K RUPIAH AND IF YOU REALLY LIKE THE GAL, THE TIP MAY GO TO 100K AND BEYOND.
SUGGEST YOU CAN DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR BY READING UP FOR MORE DETAILS BEFORE GOING THERE THE NEXT TIME.
THIS WAY, IT WILL SAVE YOU THE EMBARASSMENT AS WELL AS WELL AS GIVE THE GAL THE PROPER DIGNITY OF ASKING FOR A NORMAL TIP.

by DewaJack, I think you are spoiling the market at Tj Balai. I don't mind giving 100k Rp or more and I've done it before and I've also on the contrary never give any tip. If the gal is leaving early or asking for more tip then I think she is totally spoiled.I think should give her 10k Rp and tell her to fuck off.I've come across many gal without asking for tipping and some even pay for the bills they order.Posted on Sep 11, 2000, 11:38 PM

Rp 100K Tip is too much.
by PochI've been to Balai few times and the girls there cost me Rp 150K/day so to me the tip of Rp 50K is very reasonable.
I’ve came across a girl at Batam, she says that normally she get tip of S$50. She could be telling the truth or trying to con me. Well I only could say to her that I'm not rich, and only handed her Rp 50K tip. Nowdays I avoid going to Batam for girls.
(May be at batam Rp 100K tip is fine, Please Don’t spoil the ladies at Balai by giving Rp 100K tip)

I Didn't Say I MEMORIZED the FAQ

I went back and looked up tipping amounts
and everyone had different numbers. Average
might be 30-40k, 100k is totally out there.
What sense does it make to tip 100k when you
paid 200k for the booking. The girl may love
your wallet more but doesn't make a damm
difference how she feels about you.
Tipping is DISCRETIONARY, I tip for outstanding
service. If a fixed amount is expected that's
a service charge and I expect to be told about
service charges in advance. I take a dim view
of someone demanding a tip and give them little or
nothing. I consider this trying to sweeten
the deal they originally agreed to. Why should
someone who is merely doing what they agreed to
get more. In my original post the girl first
asked for ojek fare which I gave, then asked for
100k tip which I considered re-negotiating the
deal and instantly shut down.
Conversely I like to reward good
behavior and give more when nothing is asked or
expected. I'll freely admit I'm not a big
tipper, all it does is raise expectations and

by Halcobe it Balai , Batu , Batam or anywhere else in riau-island, my tip remain the same. Because the standard of living is the same in all these places, 1 pack of cig or a can of drinks cost the same.
Batam's price for a gal might be higher but that should not mean that must give more for tips. Generally i tip Rp50K for an average performer & Rp70K if she is worth a 2nd booking. Okay i'm not excatly a 1 gal man, i like to go scouting/hunting for new stuff and even if i wanted to book back the same gal, i'll never reserve her, just walk into the joint to see if she is there, if she isn't, nvm look for another one. i always feel that by "reserving" a gal, you gave her the upper hand, she will demand things in exchange for service ( because she know you like her service & keep coming back for more ). So i prefer to hold onto my winning cards 
At times i had given Rp100K for better gals but now i realise it was a mistake - spoilt market ! If i wanted to give $50-$100 , i might as well go GL. A piece of brown pussy is still a piece of brown pussy no matter how pretty or how good their service is. And i think everyone should help drill that into their head, look at some of those spoil bitches around. IF you happen to get "extra-ordinary" services from them , it's because you're on their list of carrot head.
Frankly i've not given as low as 5K, min is Rp20K but on a few occasion, nottin at all. Usually for those that do not meet my satisfactory expection during the earlier rounds, i'll ask for a bj before they go back in the morning( give them a chance) or else they get nottin i let them know. Most will relunctantly oblige , but a few just simply held their head high & refuse to do so, they will stand there waiting for my tip for awhile, and when realise i'm not giving anything out, they just left with a bang on the door LOL
